The Little Trinity 175th Anniversary “Corktown Walk For Camp” celebrates and continues the church’s history of service to Toronto. As part of our 175th anniversary commemoration, Little Trinity church invites the congregation and surrounding community to walk a 2.5/5K route through our neighbourhood, marking places of historic service and present-day need.
The walk benefits the Toronto Star Fresh Air Fund, supporting a collaboration that began in the summer of 1901, when Star publisher Joseph Atkinson raised money to send impoverished children out of the city’s lethal heat. That effort gave rise to the Toronto Fresh Air Society — led initially by Little Trinity’s rector, the Rev. Canon H.C. Dixon — and has continued for over a century since, sending more than half a million underprivileged and special needs children to camp. This year, the Fresh Air Fund has a fundraising target of $650,000, benefiting 25,000 children.
