2017 will be a year of anniversaries. 100 years for the Toronto Maple Leafs. 150 years for Canada. 175 years for Little Trinity Church. Our anniversary as a church not only leads us to give thanks to God for his faithfulness over those 175 years, but is also a prime moment to recommit ourselves to God’s purpose for us as church. A prime moment to consciously reorient ourselves to the biblical vision of what it is to be God’s new society. The Book of Ephesians powerfully reveals God’s corporate relationship with his people. Ephesians gives us God’s eternal purpose in Jesus that he is working out in and through the church. More than any other book Ephesians reorients us to the resources and responsibilities that we have as his new society. May we reorient ourselves to this biblical vision for the next 175 years.
