diakoneo provisions
As we practice listening to the Spirit and looking for ways to love our neighbours, exciting opportunities and ideas are arising in our midst. One such idea is diakoneo provisions, a project birthed out of the Makers Collective in Fall 2023 by Little T parishioner Valerie Remark. diakoneo provisions is a creative approach to addressing food insecurity in our community, and one that may pair well with the Good Food Market. Valerie writes:
Food insecurity in Toronto is at crisis levels, and oftentimes, affordable meals don’t fully meet nutritional needs. Birthed out of a creative workshop hosted at Little T in tandem with this community’s desire for justice lived out, diakoneō provisions is a line of shelf-stable and rehydratable hot meals that are nutritionally dense and costs less than $3 per meal — less than the average cup of coffee.
