Lunch & Learn – Mapping the Ground We Stand On

February 25 @ 1:00 pm - 4:00 pm

Sun, Feb 25, 1-4pm, downstairs in the Parish Hall – “Mapping the Ground We Stand On” – This interactive workshop, developed by the Primate’s World Relief and Development Fund (PWRDF) to help parishes on the path to Truth and Reconciliation, invites participants to explore Indigenous presence, the history of Settler arrival, and their relationship to one another, literally ON a map of Canada. It also offers an opportunity for learning and reflection on the concepts of Terra Nullius — “empty land” — and the Doctrine of Discovery as well as on Indigenous Knowledge. It will be led by Cheryl Marek, a trained facilitator from PWRDF, and our special guest will be Diane Gray, Chair, Anishnawbe Health Foundation. Suitable for ages 16 and up. More information about the Mapping Exercise can be found here: https://pwrdf.org/mapping-exercise/.

Make Note:  Place: Parish Hall (church basement) – Attendance Limit: 50.  RSVP here: http://tinyurl.com/lunchlearnfeb25
Note: The exercise takes 3 hours – please be prepared to stay for the afternoon.
